  • Fundamentals of Dance: Includes ballet, contemporary dance and dance theatre performed to classical and modern music. Primary emphasis is placed on learning the basic steps and vocabulary of ballet.
  • Jazz Tap Dancing: A percussive musical form using the feet as instruments. The style taught is derived from tap masters Honi Coles, Brenda Buffalino, and others. Flat shoes are recommended.
  • African Dance with Kusun Ensemble: Members of Nii Tettey Tetteh’s Kusun Ensemble from Ghana conduct traditional West African dance classes. These classes are high-energy workouts with authentic live percussion accompaniment throughout the warm-up, practice and dance. Several traditional dances are taught over the course period.
  • Yoga: The nondogmatic, vinyasa style of yoga is taught. “Vinyasa” means “to flow” in Sanskrit and such a style emphasizes the connection between the breath and asana. At its deepest level, yoga transforms you by generating energy and vitality, and opening physical and mental blocks that limit potential.
